Vivian Baak is a devoted Mayan Spiritual Guide—known as an Ajq’ij in the Kaqchiquel language—whose work bridges ancestral wisdom with modern healing practices. She is a master practitioner of Shamanic Energy Medicine, a certified Medical Qi Gong Instructor, Electro Acupuncturist, Tantric Kriya Yoga practitioner, and the author of Find Peace and Heal and Sanando desde la Paz.

Vivian's mission is to help people reconnect with the vast reservoir of compassion and love that lives within and around us—energies powerful enough to catalyze deep healing. She facilitates this transformation through retreats, personal therapy, fire ceremonies, Qi Gong classes, shamanic initiations, women’s circles, counseling, and more.

What fuels her purpose are the moments when she sees transformation in those she serves: faces shifting from pain or doubt to expressions of peace, joy, or tears of release. These moments continually reaffirm her path and nourish her own healing. Vivian believes deeply that true medicine can only be shared when it is first lived—through daily practice, presence, and integrity.

She walks a path rooted in reciprocity, devotion, and ancestral remembrance. Her work is informed not only by formal studies, but by a life fully lived in service to spirit, to learning, and to community.

At the age of 44, Fran made a life-altering decision: he left behind his home and everything he had built in Madrid to begin a journey of self-discovery. With his loyal companion, his dog Franky, he arrived in Costa Rica—where a deep connection to nature and a drastic lifestyle shift became the gateway to a new path.

It was here that meditation became a daily practice and the sacred medicine of Bufo Alvarius found him. His experience in the Sonoran Desert opened the door to a powerful gift: the ability to channel. Since then, Fran has been sharing medicine not as a facilitator, but as a pure channel for a shamanic energy known as Airón.

In his ceremonies, Fran lends his body as a vehicle for this energy—allowing for deep energetic work that often leads to profound personal healing. Recently, this connection has expanded to include interventions where participants receive healing without ingesting any medicine. This speaks to the powerful resonance of the energy he channels and the depth of surrender and coherence he embodies.

Fran’s presence is deeply rooted in love, humility, and authenticity. He doesn’t claim to heal others—instead, he holds space and transmits the wisdom that helps each person remember how to heal themselves. Corina Prieto 

Ceremonial Guide • Cacao Medicine Expert

Corina Prieto was born in Guatemala 46 years ago, and while her early years were marked by a deep and natural connection with the Earth, like many, she gradually drifted away from what once nourished her spirit. Life experiences—particularly within relationships—sparked in her a profound desire for personal healing. This set her on a dedicated search for tools, guides, and wisdom that could help her return to wholeness.

Her spiritual journey deepened significantly in 2021 when the sacred medicine of Bufo Alvarius entered her life. From that moment forward, Corina experienced a complete transformation. In her words, she discovered the greatest medicine of all: love.

Since then, her life has continued to shift through powerful inner and outer changes—transforming her physical, emotional, nutritional, and energetic patterns. Through meditation, self-knowledge, and self-care, she has found the gentle and wise rhythm that flows through all things.

In August 2023, she answered the call of Cacao medicine and trained in Ceremonial Cacao through the Universidad de la Tierra in Bogotá, Colombia, guided by the ancestral principles of Toltec Mayan culture. This path has become a source of immense beauty and deepening, opening the heart to the boundless tenderness that Cacao gently awakens within us.

Today, Corina shares this medicine with humility, presence, and reverence—offering it as a mirror and a bridge for others walking their own paths of remembrance and healing.

Jarben Alejandro “Alex” Cobin Cortez

Farm-to-Table and Wellness Chef 

Jarben Alejandro Cobin Cortez, lovingly known as Alex, is a passionate young chef from the picturesque town of San Lucas Tolimán, nestled by the shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. From an early age, Alex felt a profound calling to the kitchen. With unwavering dedication and the support of his mother, he pursued his dream—earning a scholarship to study in the city and refine his culinary skills.

His talent and work ethic led him to a unique opportunity as a private chef for a family in Guatemala City. This role became a turning point in his life: not only did it allow him to complete his high school education, but it also opened the door to the world of Chinese medicine, vegetarian cuisine, and the sacred understanding of food as energy and healing. Under their mentorship—and with additional training from a seasoned hotel chef—Alex developed a refined, intentional, and deeply soulful approach to cooking.

After completing his studies, Alex returned to his hometown with a mission: to build his own culinary path. He launched a small catering business for events and began raising chickens fed through natural methods—rooted in his belief that food, when prepared with care and integrity, can be a source of well-being and transformation.

To Alex, cooking is more than a profession—it is an act of love, service, and healing. His warm presence, passion for flavor, and respect for the energetic value of food have made him beloved by all who know him. With a heart full of dreams, Alex envisions taking his culinary gifts beyond Guatemala, sharing his food, culture, and wisdom with the world—one nourishing plate at a time.
